Refurbishment of Gourock Outdoor Pool
Location: Gourock
Summary: Refurbishment of outdoor swimming pool and provision of new changing facilities and gym.
Description of Works: This project involved refurbishment works to the existing swimming pool together with the construction of a new 180m2 building to provide gymnasium and changing facilities.
Works included:
- utility installations
- piled structural concrete foundations
- structural steel
- brickwork construction
- Sarnafil roof terrace
- Kalzip roofing
- glass curtain walling
- alumasc render
- powder coated balustrades and stairs
- hard landscaping.
Refurbishment works to the swimming pool involved:
- removing the coating
- concrete repairs
- renewal of the supply and drainage pipework
- installation of glass fibre components
- rubber safety coping
- the application of a new coating
- tiling
Community Benefits
A Targeted Recruitment & Training Plan was agreed with the Client and we provided:
- 36 trainee weeks for new entrants
- notified every vacancy on site to the local Community Development Trust, Council Economic & Social Regeneration Department and Job Centre Plus
- 16 weeks work experience through a local Youth Build Scheme
