Description of Works: The construction of 4 new single and 2-storey classroom blocks providing additional floorspace of 1250m² within 3 operational Edinburgh Primary Schools.

• HV Cable and Virgin Media diversions
• Reduced level excavation
• Drainage work & connection to existing sewers
• Concrete floor slab
• Timber frame
• Standing Seam Roof
• Windows and doors
• Internal fit-out works including dry-lining, joinery and decoration works
• M&E installations
• External works and landscaping

Added Value

Due to limited site space we opted to use an offsite fabrication solution for the roof sheets. The completion of 5 buildings with identical roofing defined the most cost effective procurement of the Kalzip Roof was to have the bulk materials delivered as a coil and then rolled to the required profile and length. As the site locations prevented sufficient access for this fabrication facility we completed the works within the grounds of our head office, segregated the finished materials for each school and delivered them on a just in time basis; this provided minimal disruption to the sites, negated damage from materials being stored on a congested site and provided the Client with the most cost effective solution.
